The selected space of the new Cody & Co Interior Design studio and retail home store in historic downtown Littleton, CO had not been updated in over 30 years. The challange was to keep the charm of building intact, update current building code, and create an enticing shopping experience and work enviroment.

The retail home store on the lower level of the two story lease space had small openings that connected three adjoining rooms. Structural walls were removed and engineer beams were installed to open the space for better visual and traffic flow throughout. The plumbing was revamped and a handicapped bathroom was added to meet the requirements of permitting and code. The worn carpet was replaced with durable engineered hardwood flooring and all of the wall were painted with an appealing neutral color. An updated electrical service allowed for the installation of a versatile power track to showcase various light fixtures for purchase. New custom built-in display cabinets and shelving were designed and installed to present the inventory. Additionally, new furnishings and accessories were selected and displayed for customers consideration.

The upper level of the space was designed for the designer's studio office space. The existing oak hardwood floors were refinished in a clean, natural finish. The walls were painted a light color to enhance the natural light from the many windows. New light fixtures, desks, shelving and seating was incorporated to create an an inviting and productive meeting and workspace.
